A brief overview of the changes to Bulletin Messenger are listed here.
Menu Structure similar to other Bulletin Services
Looking for the menu? It's moved! Now the main pages are linked from the left hand navigation menu just like the other Bulletin Products.
Some of the menu options have been moved to a better place. For instance, want to update your signature? Click the button beside the insert option. Same deal for changing display settings and refresh rates for your recent messages.
Create Message Page: Add contact auto complete
Start typing a number or name in the recipients box and Messenger will look it up and give you the matches.
Create Message Page: Allow users to hide address books if they do not use them.
If you don't use your online address books you can click the Contacts label and the address books go away. Showing them again is just as easy.
API: Messenger API need to only accept hashed passwords
Worried about security? We are too. Now, if you are using the Messenger API then you need to use a SHA1 hash and not your password. The appropriate hash can be seen in your Messenger Settings page if you are not sure how to calculate it.
Media Library: MIDI file support (sound)
Simple and small MIDI files can be uploaded and sent as Media Messages.
Media Library: Support 3GP files (video)
Those crazy mobile phone video files can be uploaded and sent as Media Messages.
Reports: Show Replies in Message Details Reports
Company administrators can now more information in their reports!
Bulk Sender: easily accessible page to send to a file of your recipients.
We hid this before but now anyone can send to a list of numbers without first adding them to an address book. Remember though, if you start to SPAM we will cut you off. No one likes a spammer.
Email handling: strip leading plus characters from recipient addresses
Media Library: Display images in a grid format
Create Message Page: Show more useful information in the recent message List.
Number Blocking: add confirmation for users so they don't block everyone by mistake... you know who you are...
Create Message Page: contact list - contact preview (on selection) removed as there is now contact auto complete!
Message Detail Page: show relevant buttons/options depending on the message type
Oops!
Sorry about that Some of the technical bits have changed and we need you to clear the cache.
If you are you getting an 'Error on Page' when you try to send a message, or if buttons aren't working, hold the SHIFT key and refresh the page (F5 or the button), this will help.
Depending on your browser, hold the CTRL key instead of the SHIFT when refreshing.
